Position Summary:
This position reports directly to the SVP Global Operations and is responsible for providing technical expertise in all areas of operations through knowledge of process engineering, capacities, capabilities, yield, cost, people systems and overall unit operations. This role will serve as a change agent to challenge existing processes in place and use data to communicate and support the opportunities that exist.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the improvement in productivity of all assets (people, equipment, materials, and time) through identification and implementation of best practices, equipment modifications and capital investments.
  2. Provides design expertise for capital projects in areas of new product development, financial savings, sensitivity analysis, capacities, capabilities, facility layouts, material handling, ergonomics, start-up costs, yield, and efficiencies.
  3. Initiate, develop and implement productivity ideas and cost savings projects for the facility, working towards achieving the plant conversion productivity target.
  4. Support new product and process development projects which facilitate corporate initiatives to grow and expand in existing and new markets.
  5. Coordinate the elimination of waste and improvements of manufacturing processes.
  6. Develop, implement, and maintain a Continuous Improvement Program that promotes a Zero Loss culture. A Zero Loss culture eliminates non-value-added work and losses every day, as well as expecting and demanding continuous improvement every day.
  7. Conduct economic and business case analyses of cost reduction ideas, capital projects, and supply chain strategies.
  8. Optimize capacity utilization through process flow optimization, bottle neck analysis, and Lean Manufacturing strategies to release trapped capacity and increase OEE.
  9. Stay current in emerging technologies and innovative practices.
  10. Other special projects and duties as assigned.
  11. Demonstrate and enforce following safe work practices and policies to maintain a safe work environment.
  12. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
  13. Keep a positive, energetic, can-do attitude when representing the company to customers, and visitors.
  14. Ability to climb, walk, do light lifting, sit for long periods, or stand for long periods.
  15. Performs other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position. These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  1. Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, industrial) preferred; or 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing knowledge in converting, nonwovens, hot melt adhesives, or recycling highly desired.
  2. Willing to get dirty on the plant floor as this is not a desk job; great opportunity for someone who likes to be directly involved from concept, through trial development to final commercialization and optimization.
  3. Machining and Fabrication experience desirable
  4. CAD/CAM Design capabilities preferred.
  5. Be personal and pleasant to external and internal customers; operate with a team-first attitude.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Display a high accuracy of data entry.
  8. Actively support company initiatives through words and actions.
  9. Ability to work independently with little supervision and handle multiple projects.

Work Relationship and Scope:
Reports to the SVP Global Operations - Nathan Genke. Works closely with all other colleagues at FyterTech to accomplish established goals. Works daily with highly confidential business and employee information.
Measures of Performance:

Working Conditions:
Work is performed within the normal FyterTech setting. Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required. Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines. Work hours are generally during normal business hours, as both scheduled and unscheduled work hours may arise. Must be able to bend, twist, turn and lift/move up to fifty pounds. Required travel between offices. Out-of-town/overnight business travel may also be required. Serves as a representative of the organization at appropriate functions.
