Role Details

  • Title: Data Engineer
  • Duration: 6+ months contract (possibility of extension)
  • Work Location: Jupiter, FL 33478 (5 days onsite)


Job Overview

This position assesses, designs, develops, integrates, and troubleshoots technology to support business processes. Employees provide technical or functional guidance to project or work teams, as needed, within specific or multiple disciplines. This position is accountable for ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and continuity of IT systems, as well as ensuring that excellent technical support services are provided.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, implement, maintain, integrate, customize, and enhance existing or new systems.
  • Apply appropriate Agile or development methodologies, system development lifecycles, tools, and technology.
  • Automate the handoff of code releases from development to operations (DevOps).
  • Participate in the change management and service ticket management processes, including receiving, resolution monitoring, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Lead projects when needed and build a strong working understanding of the solution being delivered.
  • Ensure user satisfaction by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of more complex problems.
  • Design, develop, and test experimental application work to validate new ideas within bounded cost and time frames.
  • Ensure that application processes are conducted in line with corporate social responsibility, security, compliance, environmental, and technical policies, as well as applicable standards and legislation.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and vendors.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy data and analytics solutions to support nuclear operations and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and operations, to understand data needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Implement data pipelines, data warehousing, and ETL processes to ensure high-quality and accessible data.
  • Design and build strong foundational data pipelines for AI initiatives.
  • Experience with real-time and IoT data is a plus.
  • Experience with different data management efforts (Data Quality, Data Governance, Retention, Privacy, and Data Security).
  • Develop advanced analytical models and algorithms to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement in data practices.
  • Provide Level 3 support to current Power BI reports.
  • Knowledge of Gen AI is a plus.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, and experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to nuclear data management and security.


Required Skills

  • Expert knowledge of Oracle, Databricks, SQL, PostgreSQL.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Power BI Architecture, AWS DMS, Microsoft Copilot, and Microsoft Studio.
  • Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in the nuclear sector is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and GCP) and their data services.
  • Familiarity with OpenSearch and Neo4j.
