Luna Data Solutions is seeking a Sr Business Analyst for a long term remote contract engagement in Oklahoma City.

• Long term multiple year contract engagement
• Remote & Oklahoma City, OK (In-person attendance may be required for some on-site meetings, so must reside within driving distance of OKC)
• Work hours are usually 8:00 am–5:00 pm, with flexibility possible if approved by the Project Manager.

Undertaking a comprehensive, multi-year modernization initiative to replace aging legacy systems and transition to a unified, cloud native environment. This effort centers on building a modern Azure-hosted pension administration system that integrates seamlessly with member portal andemployer portal.

The modernization responds to longstanding challenges such as fragmented workflows, manual processes, limited scalability, and stability issues in legacy technologies. The initiative introduces a modern stack—Angular, REST APIs, Azure SQL Managed Instances, Azure Function Apps, Power BI, a document management and process automation solution (pending platform evaluation and alternatives)—to support scalable, secure, and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

Process Analysis and Documentation

• Engage with business units to understand operational workflows, pain points, and improvement opportunities.
• Interface with technical resources, such as Development or IT staff to understand and translate technical requirements.
• Document current state processes using clear, structured methods such as process maps, swimlane diagrams, and workflow charts.
• Facilitate discussions to define future state processes aligned with organizational goals.

Requirements Gathering and User Story Development

• Translate business needs into detailed functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and Azure DevOps work items/user stories.
• Ensure requirements are complete, consistent, testable, and aligned with business priorities.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to refine and validate requirements.

Testing and Quality Assurance

• Develop test plans, test scripts, and step-by-step testing instructions for functional and user acceptance testing.
• Execute functional testing of user stories in Development and Test environments to validate solution accuracy and readiness.
• Document defects, track resolution progress, and verify fixes.
• Coordinate, support, or lead user acceptance testing (UAT) sessions with business stakeholders.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication

• Serve as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
• Communicate project updates, risks, and issues clearly and proactively.
• Support change management activities by contributing to training materials, documentation, and user guidance.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of Business Analyst experience.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Process documentation experience - ability to create clear process diagrams and workflow documentation.
• Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases.
• Familiarity with DevOps or similar work item management tools.
• Hands on experience with functional testing and UAT coordination.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
