Position Summary: The Systems Administrator job family is responsible for the administration, reliability, and security of enterprise infrastructure platforms, including network services (connectivity and data transport), storage systems (data storage platforms), compute platforms (servers and processing capacity), and database systems (enterprise data management technologies).

This job family emphasizes lifecycle execution, service request fulfillment, incident response, identity and access governance, portfolio management, documentation, education, operational discipline, workload management, and continuous improvement rather than direct end-user support.

This position may be filled as a System Administrator I, II, or III depending on qualifications, experience, and organizational need.


Systems Administrator Associate (Entry-Level; I)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4 years of experience in IT support, analyst, or junior infrastructure roles
  • Handson exposure to server administration, networking, virtualization, cloud platforms, or database support tasks, preferred
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA); CompTIA Server+; CompTIA Network+; Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate; Microsoft Azure Fundamentals; ITIL Foundation, preferred

Summary Scope: At the entry level, Systems Administrators contribute independently to infrastructure lifecycle activities, service requests, incident response, access administration, portfolio maintenance, documentation, and workload coordination while developing foundational skills and adherence to governance controls.

  • Cisco Certified Specialist (CCS); CompTIA Security+; Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate; Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate; Azure Database Administrator Associate (or equivalent); ITIL Foundation, preferred

  • 6 years of progressive systems administration experience
  • Experience leading infrastructure initiatives, mentoring administrators, or contributing to architectural planning and modernization efforts, preferred
