Description

The Department of Chemistry at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for tenured faculty in any area of experimental physical chemistry. We are interested in candidates who will contribute to higher education through teaching, research, mentoring, and service.

Successful candidates are expected to establish and sustain a vibrant research program; serve as dedicated teachers and mentors to our students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; and assist in the administrative and governance functions of the department, the university and the profession via service on committees as appropriate. Applicants at the associate or full professor level must have a significant record of accomplishment in research, teaching, mentoring, and service.

The Department of Chemistry's mission is to provide all of our students with an innovative and forward-looking scientific education grounded in the fundamentals of chemistry. The department and University have state-of-the-art core facilities and we are ranked 16th best graduate program in the United States by US News and World Report (2023 ed.). We have a strong commitment to building and maintaining a supportive environment where all people can thrive.

  • PhD in chemistry or closely related field.
