Senior Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA):

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, optimize, and secure enterprise Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle database administration, performance tuning, high availability, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and database security.

The Senior Oracle DBA will work closely with application, infrastructure, development, and security teams to ensure databases are highly available, secure, reliable, and performant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle databases across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
  • Perform database administration activities including user management, tablespaces, storage, schemas, database objects, and configuration.
  • Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and performance.
  • Perform Oracle database performance tuning, including SQL tuning, execution plans, indexing, wait-event analysis, memory management, and resource utilization.
  • Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and other high-availability and disaster-recovery environments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain database backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and related technologies.
  • Perform database recovery, restoration, and point-in-time recovery when required.
  • Plan and execute Oracle database upgrades, migrations, patching, and version upgrades with minimal downtime.
  • Manage Oracle ASM, storage allocation, datafiles, redo logs, undo, control files, and archive logs.
  • Configure and monitor Oracle Data Guard environments, including physical standby databases, switchover, failover, and disaster-recovery procedures.
  • Troubleshoot database incidents, performance issues, connectivity problems, and production outages.
  • Implement database security controls, including roles, privileges, auditing, encryption, and access management.
  • Automate routine DBA tasks using SQL, PL/SQL, Shell scripting, and Python where appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain database monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in 24x7 production support and on-call rotations as required.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, recovery plans, and architecture diagrams.
  • Work with developers to review SQL, database design, indexing strategies, and application database performance.
  • Participate in change management, incident management, problem management, and root-cause analysis.
  • Ensure database environments comply with organizational security, availability, backup, and audit requirements.
  • Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical leadership on complex database initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 12+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Database 11g/12c/18c/19c/21c or later versions.
  • Excellent knowledge of Oracle database architecture and administration.
  • Strong expertise in:
