Job Title: Senior Storage Engineer (NetApp)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Storage Engineer with deep expertise in NetApp storage platforms to support and enhance complex storage environments for large enterprise clients. This role is critical to ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability of storage systems in mission-critical environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience operating storage at scale, strong operational discipline, and the ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams in customer-facing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support enterprise-scale NetApp storage solutions, including ONTAP-based systems.
  • Administer and optimize SAN and NAS environments (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS).
  • Perform storage provisioning, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
  • Manage data protection technologies and policies.
  • Support and participate in storage migrations, upgrades, and hardware refresh initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with security, operational, and change-management standards.
  • Diagnose and remediate complex storage incidents in high-availability environments.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, virtualization, backup, and application teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support when required
Required Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship (required).
  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise storage engineering or storage operations.
  • Strong hands-on experience with NetApp systems (AFF, FAS) and ONTAP.
  • Proven experience supporting large-scale, multi-client or enterprise environments.
  • Solid understanding of SAN/NAS architectures and protocols (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB).
  • Experience with storage performance analysis and troubleshooting tools.
  • Working knowledge of data protection, disaster recovery, and replication strategies.
  • Experience supporting virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere preferred).
  • Strong operational mindset with experience in ITIL-based support environments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NetApp certifications (NCDA, NCIE, or equivalent).
  • Experience with cloud-integrated storage (Azure NetApp Files, AWS FSx for NetApp ONTAP).
  • Exposure to backup solutions (Commvault, NetBackup, Veeam, Nasuni etc.).
  • Experience in regulated or security-sensitive environments.
  • Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, REST APIs).
Soft Skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Professional demeanor suitable for high-visibility client environments.
