Job Description

The net.AMERICA Corporation is seeking a Senior Engineer to gather, analyze and document business requirements and design specifications of FEMA applications, including third-party software requirements, back-end resources, and means of implementation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities, but not limited to: 

Design WMB, MQ & WTX hardware infrastructure. Produce design documents and guide them through the review and approval process. 

Provide technical support and guidance to web application developers when necessary. Promote use of EADIS best practices, ensuring standardization across integration of applications.

Provide guidance to engineering for networking, database management, WebSphere Application Server (WAS) etc.

Perform technical analysis and review of new technologies and identify potential benefits to FEMA engineering under AEES branch

Participate in requirements working sessions and provide troubleshooting as necessary.

Provide input to project planning, estimation, budget, resources, and technology planning.

Support project management tasks across multiple simultaneous project deployments.

Ensure deliverables are prepared to meet EADIS standards and in accordance with contractual obligations.

Ensure deliverables are prepared in EADIS format to satisfy the project requirements, costs and schedule.

Brief senior leadership on the technical status of projects and tasks.

Participate in requirements definition and review (25%)

Participate and perform code/configurations reviews and troubleshooting (25%)

Perform testing on the code/configurations (20%)

Develop/Troubleshoot code for integration of new application architecture (15%)

Create technical documentation (15%)


Required Skills:

Java development (7-10 years)

J2EE (5-10 years)

Apache Webserver configuration and troubleshooting (3-5 years)

MQ, WMB, WTX or similar enterprise application integration, data integration, enterprise service bus (ESB) products/tools. Knowledge of at least one of MQ, WMB & WTX (5-7 years)

Unix, Windows Server, zOS or Linux (5-7 years)

Scripting languages such as PERL & Shell Script (3-5 years)

CA SiteMinder, Web Agent & Identify Manager (3-5 years)


Preferred Skills and Certifications

ITIL v3 Certification

Oracle experience (5-10 years)

Rational experience (1-3 years)

System engineering (5-10 years)

Familiar with replication technologies in the market including storage systems and file system replication
