The Senior Specialist, Accounting will be responsible for project accounting tasks to achieve smooth operations on either a dedicated project or on the overall project accounting function.

  • Explore your tasks and responsibilities
  • Trains and guides the project accounting team either on a dedicated project or on project accounting function
  • Ensures understanding of the project contractual scopes, commercial terms and conditions, rights, liabilities and risks (thorough contract review and incorporation of details into project lifecycle responsibilities)
  • File key documents with clients, related to awarded project (filing consistent with corporate standard)
  • Regularly reviews project costs in detail to reconcile with project controls/commercial team
  • Responsible for the monthly cost accrual
  • Ensures the accuracy and timely billings to the clients
  • Responsible for tracking payment to vendors/subcontractors supporting the project
  • Work with AR/AP department to ensure appropriate payments are made accurately and timely
  • Updates project financials consistent with details provided by Project Management/Project Controls/Commercial Team for monthly project review
  • Leads the project commercial close out on the tasks related to the project accounting function
  • Assists with reconciliation of accounting (ERP) and Project Controls systems to ensure consistency in reporting
  • Generates weekly labor and non-labor reports specific to project(s) being supported
  • Advises on improving the processes related to the project accounting function
  • Other duties as assigned

  • 5-10 years Construction industry experience required
  • Experience in a Lead role on a large project

  • Proficient with applicable ERP system (Oracle is active ERP)
  • Advanced with MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Good team management skill and task management skill
  • Good at processes and training
  • Ability to work independently
  • Able to identify issues and recommend solutions
