We are seeking an exceptional engineer to take on a pivotal role in designing, building, and supporting highly available, mission-critical enterprise messaging solutions. This is a hands-on opportunity where you will dive deep into advanced messaging technologies, geo-replication strategies, and robust automation frameworks. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our real-time, business-critical messaging environments, contributing from initial design concepts through to successful production implementation. Your work will directly enhance system reliability, performance, and scalability, making a tangible difference to our operational backbone.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support premium messaging solutions.
  • Implement geo-replication and multi-region resiliency strategies.
  • Develop and enhance infrastructure-as-code scripts and reusable components.
  • Design and execute high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR), failover, failback, and resiliency testing.
  • Automate deployments and operational processes using scripting languages.
  • Support messaging queues, topics, subscriptions, dead-letter queues (DLQs), message replay, retries, duplicate handling, and message ordering.
  • Develop DR runbooks, comprehensive documentation, monitoring, alerts, and operational procedures.
  • Troubleshoot production messaging, integration, performance, and reliability issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cloud cost management, automation, and operational efficiency.

Must-Have Qualifications
  • 7+ years of cloud, platform, middleware, integration, or enterprise messaging engineering experience.
  • Deep hands-on experience with a leading cloud platform and its messaging services.
  • Experience implementing geo-replication or comparable multi-region messaging solutions.
  • Advanced infrastructure-as-code experience - required.
  • Hands-on experience with High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Recovery Time Objective/Recovery Point Objective (RTO/RPO), failover/failback, and DR testing.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise messaging and distributed/event-driven systems.
  • Automation/scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, and/or a cloud command-line interface.
  • Experience supporting business-critical production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
  • Experience with high-volume, real-time transactional environments.
  • Experience developing DR runbooks and automated/self-healing processes.
