What You'll Do

This position exists in order to architect, implement, support, and troubleshoot server systems, databases, and associated applications in both an on-prem and cloud infrastructure environment. Architect and implement network architectures as well as system hardening standards. Conduct research, analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning. Monitor system security and protect against unauthorized access, modification or destruction.

  • Compensation: This is a salaried position; candidates with significant related experience may be higher. $115,000-$157,000 plus 10% target bonus.

What's Needed For This Position

Required Education & Experience

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Networking, or a similar curriculum.
  • In-depth experience planning, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Exchange, Azure/M365, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • Seven (7) years of combined education and/or experience in infrastructure support.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must have an insured vehicle.

Key Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Exchange, Azure/M365, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related enterprise services.
  • Advanced expertise in designing, supporting, and troubleshooting enterprise infrastructure across Windows and server environments, including both physical and virtual systems.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts, network routing, firewall configuration, distributed computing, and enterprise-grade networking equipment such as switches and routers.
  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities with the capability to manage complex projects, shifting priorities, and multiple technology platforms while working independently.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical issues, document solutions, and work effectively in a hybrid team environment.

We'd Love To See

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Networking, or a similar curriculum.
  • Experience using network security assessment tools and techniques.
  • Scripting experience in common languages.
  • In-depth experience configuring Network Operating Systems, architectures, and protocols.
  • One or more industry certifications.

Work Schedule

  • Full-Time, working approximately 40 hours per week. Hours and shifts vary between business hours Monday through Friday, and additional schedule variations may be required to support infrastructure maintenance, system upgrades, troubleshooting, and on-call responsibilities.
  • Occasional travel within Royal's geographic footprint may be required to support IT infrastructure at remote locations and attend meetings or training.
  • This position is part of Royal's workplace flexibility program and has the ability to be hybrid remote after a few months of training and proficiency in the position.
  • When not working remote, the office location is the Corporate Office in Eau Claire, WI.ย 
  • This position requires residency within Royalโ€™s office footprint

Training

  • Prior to starting a normal work schedule, new Royal team members must attend Foundation Training at our Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI from 9:00am - 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday during their first week of employment. Out of town learners will be reimbursed costs related to travel and lodging.
  • Foundation Training covers fundamental information about Royal's culture and core values which sets the stage for team members to be successful within our organization.
