Job Title: Senior Site Lead Engineer Job Category: Information Technology Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 25% Type of Travel: Local * * * The Opportunity: Oversee network design, deployment, and sustainment activities at U.S. Air Force bases across the Indo-Pacific as the Site Lead Engineer. You'll direct site-level engineering execution, guide survey and design efforts, implement secure routing policies, and support installation verification and documentation across wired and wireless infrastructure. You'll also collaborate with regional cybersecurity teams and provide over-the-shoulder support post-deployment. This high-impact role requires hands-on leadership and advanced technical depth to deliver reliable, mission-ready communications systems in complex operational environments. Responsibilities: * Senior role with multi-disciplined network experience across wired, wireless, and mobile broadband solutions.
* Understands requirements; creates designs and network topology artifacts to meet or exceed connectivity, availability, reliability, and security SLAs.
* Leads the development of designs, plans and policies, and implementations of data networks based on the customer's performance criteria and specifications.
* Leads site surveys and network assessments to determine the best hardware and software components for network upgrades to ensure networks are reliable, efficient, and secure.
* Leads preliminary and final SPRIP development.
* Ensures installations are performed within safety standards and work site conditions (cleanliness), including restoration of the site to original or better condition.
* Provides Post-Deployment Over-the-Shoulder-Training to the O&M team to ensure smooth transition of the networks systems.
* Designs and implements routing policies and load balancing solutions for the customer using BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP routing protocols.
* Creates cyber artifacts such as topology/data flow diagrams, hardware/software lists, STIG checklists, ports/protocols/services, and POA&Ms.
* Designs and implements secure networks, systems, and application architectures.
* Provides implementation and support of network management such as SNMP, SYSLOG, and orchestration.
* Creates LOM to capture all major components and installation materials to ensure successful deployment of systems.
* Prepares or contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
* Ensures network solutions comply with all pertinent DAF policies and established compliant IT system integrations.
* Coordinates with local Communication Squadron and/or regional cybersecurity teams to configure, turn up, and cutover new deployments.
* Assists the O&M team in troubleshooting network-related issues post-deployment of the new systems. Resolves technical issues with networks, hardware, and software. Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Qualifications: Required: * Clearance: Secret.
* Degree: Technical BA/BS degree.
* Experience: 7 years with BA/BS degree.
* High School diploma or associate degree with a minimum of 9 years performing as a Network Engineer on large, complex networks. Desired: * Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and AutoCAD.
* Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with their team and customers. Certifications: * CCNP or equivalent.
