What is a senior marine GIS analyst?

A Senior Marine GIS Analyst is a specialized professional who uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to analyze, interpret, and visualize marine and coastal data. They work with spatial data related to oceans, seas, and coastal areas to support research, conservation, resource management, and planning. Their role often involves advanced data processing, creating detailed maps, conducting spatial analyses, and providing insights for decision-making in marine projects. With seniority, they may also lead teams, manage projects, and liaise with stakeholders. This position requires expertise in GIS software, marine science, and strong analytical skills.
