Senior Industrial Maintenance & Fabrication Technician

AstenJohnson is seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrial Maintenance & Fabrication Technician to join our Maintenance Team in Clinton, SC. This is more than a traditional maintenance role—it's an opportunity to become the technical expert who keeps our manufacturing operation running at peak performance.

In this role, you'll design solutions, fabricate custom components, troubleshoot complex equipment, and serve as a trusted technical resource for the maintenance team.

What You'll Do

As our Senior Industrial Maintenance & Fabrication Technician, you will:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for plant utility systems, including steam boilers, chillers, and hot oil systems
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and system-level equipment failures
  • Design and fabricate custom parts, tools, and equipment improvements
  • Perform advanced welding on aluminum, steel, and a variety of other metals
  • Operate machine shop equipment, including lathes and milling machines, to manufacture precision components
  • Rebuild motors, pumps, and mechanical assemblies
  • Perform precision alignment and shimming of equipment to maximize reliability
  • Monitor boiler chemistry and optimize system performance
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and other site teams on equipment improvements and capital projects
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and high-quality work environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Boiler Operator Certification or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to safely work in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs and ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
  • Manual dexterity required for welding, machining, and operating hand and power tools
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions including gripping, reaching, and twisting
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection
