Job description

In our organization, the Sr. Machine Operator has a critical and challenging role in helping achieve innovation and meeting our commitments.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Prepares batches of raw materials for production processing according to specifications and established procedures. Obtains materials from inventory and utilizes scales or automated equipment to accurately weight. Cleans and sanitizes processing equipment, tanks, filters, pipes, lines, and pumps. Completes all documentation or logbooks accurately and in accordance with QMS. Follows hazardous material handling and personal protective equipment requirements, if applicable. Perform in-process quality procedures. Works under moderate supervision. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares machine for production by checking operating parameters and equipment for safety.
  • Makes certain all materials for production are available and machinery is ready.
  • Operates various rubber mixing or processing machinery.
  • Inspects own work and work of others.
  • Repairs defective parts under direction of supervisor.
  • Leads operators on a complete production line.
  • Cleans equipment/recommends any unscheduled cleaning or maintenance requirements.
  • Maintains good housekeeping throughout the building
  • Completes manufacturing paperwork.
  • Assists with maintenance when necessary.
  • Loads and unloads rubber from skids.
  • Follows safety protocols
  • Assists in packaging for shipment.
  • Trains and mentors new hires as needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least four (4) years related experience.
  • Conversion of weights and measures.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition/subtraction, multiplication/division).
  • Forklift, hoist and crane experience required
  • Obtain and maintain forklift certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged standing.
  • Frequent bending, pushing, pulling and stooping, climbing stairs, etc.
  • Lifting, pulling and carrying up to 50 pounds. Over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Work in heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
