Job description

Overview:

The Local Delivery Driver is a 1st shift role responsible for operating FMCSA-regulated straight trucks to safely and efficiently deliver products to customers and/or Baldor locations. This position involves intra- and interstate deliveries and requires adherence to all DOT, FMCSA, and Company policies while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

Deliver up to 12 pallets per route to customer locations and/or Baldor facilities, both intra- and interstate.

Safely operate FMCSA-regulated straight trucks in compliance with all DOT and Company regulations.

Utilize hand trucks, lift gates, and other material-handling equipment to load and unload pallets at delivery destinations.

Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT and Company policies.

Accurately document deliveries and obtain customer signatures using electronic Bills of Lading (BOL) in accordance with Company guidelines.

Maintain professional communication with customers, dispatch, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Handle products with care to ensure quality and integrity of goods throughout transport and delivery.

Requirements:

Valid Driver's License with a minimum of one year driving experience.

Experience operating FMCSA-regulated vehicles (preferred).

Valid DOT Medical Card.

Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English language sufficiently to comply with FMCSA/DOT regulations.

Valid driving record with minimal infractions, in accordance to Company policy.

Knowledge of products to ensure proper handling and quality control.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to follow safety procedures, routes, and delivery instructions accurately.

Schedule:

Ability to work up to 6-day work schedule including weekends and holidays.

Early start time as early as 4am, based on route and operational needs.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, push and pull up to 80lbs,

Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time.

Ability to work outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions without reasonable accommodation.
