Job description

Description

Lab Tech 1 performs assigned daily laboratory operations to yield data for analysis and recommendation to customers regarding machine and component health. Ensure accuracy and efficiency of testing processes.  


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Register sample data into electronic systems to track corresponding lab data. 
  • Receive mail and shipments of samples. Open and organize samples prior to processing. 
  • Perform laboratory tests and procedures under the supervision of senior lab staff. 
  • Develop the ability to safely run the following equipment, perform the following tests: Diluter, Viscometer, TBN, TAN, Waters, Coolants, and other tests as assigned. 
  • Collect lab samples from shop, shipping, and parts locations across the campus. 
  • Analyze samples according to established protocols. 
  • Adhere to compliance, safety, quality, and regulatory standards. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment. 
  • Perform daily cleaning rotation of all laboratory surfaces and instruments. 
  • Ensure the safe disposal of lab samples and products. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Able to lift 50 lbs. Able to stand at workstations for extended periods
