Quality Lab Equipment Technician

Job Description

Performs qualification, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation to the highest standards of quality and efficiency to support on time and in full project deliveries for internal and external customers.
  • Assist in the calibration, qualification, and maintenance of laboratory instruments, including HPLC, GC, and small lab equipment (e.g., pH meters, balances, TGA/DSC, titrators).
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and routine preventive maintenance under the supervision of the Senior Lab Technician or Lab Service Manager.
  • Follow preventive maintenance procedures as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support the execution of equipment performance verification procedures in compliance with SOPs and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of calibration, service, and repair activities in logbooks and records.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of parts and assist in ordering components needed for repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Monitor and schedule external calibrations for equipment such as freezers, stability and photostability chambers, water units, and weight sets.
  • Prepare calibration standards and solutions required for instrument verification and qualification.
  • Assist with the installation of new laboratory equipment, including conducting Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ).
  • Ensure that calibration and qualification intervals are adhered to according to SOP defined schedules.
  • Actively participate in opportunities to learn and apply current knowledge of analytical instrumentation.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Lab Service Manager or Senior Lab Technician to support departmental operations.
  • Promote and maintain safe, clean, and organized laboratory environments in accordance with safety protocols and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
