About the Role:
Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions in adherence with Mastercard standards and best practices.
Work as part of an agile team to build new products and features, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
Research and evaluate technical solution alternatives for evolving business needs and emerging technologies.
Contribute to architectural decisions and make technology recommendations that balance business goals and technical requirements.
Perform feasibility studies, logic designs, and detailed systems flowcharting; analyze input-output flow, cost, and time implications.
Document software programs per Software Development Best Practices and follow Mastercard Quality Assurance processes.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior team members.
Participate in production incident management and on-call rotation.
Host technology education sessions (e.g., Brown Bag sessions) to share knowledge across the organization.
Continuously improve development practices, code quality, and process efficiency.
Stay current with new web technologies through self-study, blogs, meetups, and conferences.
All About You:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
Strong foundation in software engineering principles and methodologies.
Expert with Java 17+, JVM, and Spring framework.
Hands-on experience in Cloud-Native Development (Azure preferred), Linux, and distributed systems.
Skilled in building REST APIs and SPAs using Java, Spring, Angular, and Bootstrap.
Proficient with modern databases (Azure CosmosDB, Postgres) for low-latency, high-throughput APIs.
Experience with Big Data, ETL pipelines, and tools like Avro, Parquet, Spark, Databricks.
Familiar with CI/CD, automation, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices.
Strong focus on Test-Driven Development and scalable, high-availability systems.
Knowledge of tools like Jenkins, IntelliJ/Eclipse, and agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
Collaborative team player with cross-functional experience in global, matrixed environments.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in Canada, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive pay based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
