Senior Lead Software Engineer

Be an integral part of an agile team that's constantly pushing the envelope to enhance, build, and deliver top-notch technology products.

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Commercial and Investment Bank organization - Equities technology group, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilities

  • Implements and optimizes CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jules and Jenkins; manage release processes and automation
  • Automates application deployment, monitoring, and operational tasks using scripting languages (Python/Shell)
  • Leads and supports release rollouts, including Level 3 production support and incident resolution
  • Drives end-to-end testing, covering both functional and non-functional aspects (performance, security, reliability)
  • Develops a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end business flows and the technology stack supporting the Equities OMS
  • Collaborates with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions
  • Provides technical guidance and mentorship to business partners, technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Influences product design, application architecture, and operational best practices
  • Functions as a subject matter expert in integration, DevOps, and system reliability

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
  • Advanced experience in scripting or programming languages - Python or Shell
  • Expertise in Integration and DevOps practices including CI/CD (Jenkins and Jules), automated testing (TDD), resiliency, and application security
  • Proficient in Linux, REST APIs, Spring Boot, Node.js, SQL, and core algorithms
  • Experience with large-scale, distributed applications in mission-critical environments
  • Demonstrated experience with event-driven architectures and messaging APIs (e.g., JMS)
  • Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to deliver results across collaborative and cross-functional teams
  • Proven experience in leveraging industry technology trends and best practices
  • Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
  • Knowledge of FIX Protocol and trade lifecycle management
  • Exposure to financial services or trading environments
  • Experience with AWS cloud service
