Outside Sales Representative (B2B) – Commercial Electrical Services | Oahu and Maui

American Electric is seeking a motivated Outside Sales Representative to grow our preventive-maintenance business throughout Maui and Oahu. Electrical-industry experience is not required. Bring your proven sales ability, curiosity, and drive, and we will provide the technical training and support needed to succeed.


Overview:

You will help commercial and industrial customers improve electrical reliability, reduce downtime, and protect their facilities through preventive maintenance and testing services. Our services include de-energized maintenance, arc-flash studies, infrared thermographic imaging, ultrasonic testing, and power-quality analysis. Customers also include office, medical, educational, and institutional facilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prospect for and develop new commercial and industrial accounts throughout Oahu.

• Build relationships with facility managers, engineers, property managers, business owners, and senior leaders.

• Qualify opportunities, conduct customer meetings, and deliver effective sales presentations.

• Prepare proposals and close preventive-maintenance service agreements.

• Manage the sales pipeline and consistently follow up on opportunities.

• Collaborate with technical and operations teams to deliver responsive customer service.

• Develop a working knowledge of electrical-distribution systems, testing, and preventive-maintenance solutions.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervisory responsibilities are not anticipated.


Qualifications:

  • Proven success in B2B outside sales, business development, or territory growth.
  • Strong prospecting, cold-calling, consultative-selling, and closing skills.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with customer contacts, including senior management.
  • Excellent presentation, follow-up, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently while managing a sales territory.
  • Technical or mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn commercial electrical services.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Preferred Experience:

  • Selling maintenance contracts, service agreements, technical solutions, or other intangible services.
  • Commercial-services, construction, industrial, facilities, or technical sales.


The successful candidate must be comfortable using standard business and sales software, communicating effectively, addressing customer questions with support from the technical team, overcoming objections, and maintaining accurate sales activity and follow-up records.
