With general guidance and coaching, participates in design, development and implementation of specific new and emerging technologies, platforms and services

Assists in the assessment of technical viability of new products and technologies. Works with developers and infrastructure specialists to pilot and evaluate new technologies. Participates in development of business cases and obtaining approvals for capital expenditures.

Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Significant creativity is required. Minimum 3-5 years related experience preferred.

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Position Description: 1.Experienced with designs and the issues presented by applications that cross multiple platforms (mainframe, client server, web) 2.Strong interpersonal skills 3.Provide overall conceptual architecture / design solution for projects 4.Provide estimates for projects and assess system impacts 5.Coordinate estimate effort with other areas 6.Identify and document architecturally significant aspects/views of the systems 7.Deliver and collect best design practices across projects (e.g. decoupling and reuse) 8.Provide rationale for design decisions 9.Balance concerns of competing software quality requirements 10.Ensure that significant design decisions are communicated, validated, and adhered to

11.Represent department to senior management, business partners and architectural group 12.Designs application frameworks that protect data from unauthorized use and disclosure. 13.Track security issues and expresses recommendations on how to remediate security vulnerabilities Skills and Experience Required: 1.Solid working knowledge of requirements management principles and techniques (e.g. use case) 2.Proven experience in translating system architecture to specific design decisions 3.Thorough understanding of OOAD and UML 4.Practical experience with common modeling and development tools (e.g

Rose, Rational Software Architect) 5.Familiarity with the technology with which the system will be implemented (e.g. J2EE) at a level of implementation 6.Familiarity with industry best design approaches 7.Good understanding of relational database modeling 8.Comprehensive understanding of application security vulnerabilities and common resolution approaches including the OWASP top 10 9.Detailed knowledge about designing and architecture of the J2EE environment 10.Detailed knowledge about Spring and Struts frame work 11.Detailed knowledge of J2EE Design Patterns 12.Good understanding of the MVC architecture in Java environment 13.Proven experience in working with COTS Integration projects. 14.Adhere to and recommend coding, design, and security standards 15.Participate in design review with the Quality Review committee 16.Guide the developers during development 17.Participate in code review to ensure good development standards are adhered to 18.Proven capability of managing competing priorities 19.Good facilitator with above average communication skills 20.A professional habit of continuously learning and self-improvement 21.Healthcare Industry background preferred
