Job description

Job Summary:
RIT Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Java Architect to modernize a legacy mainframe application. The role requires significant experience in Java and modern system architecture, collaborating with both offshore teams and executive leadership.
Responsibilities:
• Must be a strong software architect that has not been too far away from the code (Java), able to work with offshore teams as well as execs to modernize a legacy mainframe application.
• This resource will have an architect on the current team and will work alongside this individual.
• This person should be well versed in modern system and software architecture and design with significant experience in Java, Azure, Kafka, and Mongo or other document databases.
• This person will be hands on designing systems that will replace our hybrid mainframe/java systems in the spaces of Fee Billing, Payment Options, and our books and records system replacement.
• This person should be able to Client out what is needed, inputs/outputs of APIs, and how/when to utilize Kafka.
• The ideal candidate can talk in a room of senior java developers and be respected for their technical experience, as well as lead them through software and system design.
• This role will also interface directly with high level leadership and there will be some scrutiny around these systems.
• These systems will be highly performant and built with the technologies listed above.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Strong software architect with hands-on coding experience in Java
• Ability to work with offshore teams and executives
• Experience in modern system and software architecture and design
• Significant experience in Java, Azure, Kafka, and Mongo or other document databases
• Hands-on experience designing systems to replace hybrid mainframe/java systems
• Ability to define client needs, inputs/outputs of APIs, and utilization of Kafka
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior Java developers and lead them through software and system design
• Experience interfacing directly with high-level leadership
Preferred:
• Mainframe experience is a large plus
