Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Sr Principal Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position will support our Aeronautics Systems sector in Oklahoma City, OK.
The selected candidate will join our team of software engineers to:
  • Support the development of Strategic Operating Units, executing both sustainment and modernization programs
  • Contribute to software engineering initiatives for several programs with software design & development, software test and integration, and DevOps expertise
  • Use a variety of software languages, technologies, and industry best practices
  • Support all phases of the development life cycle for flight, mission, lab and tools software

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and standup of large-scale software factory used by software teams
  • Implement and maintain DevSecOps lifecycle - continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, continuous cyber, and continuous deployment pipeline

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience in software engineering OR a Master's degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 6 years of experience in software engineering OR a PhD degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 4-years of experience
  • Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language (Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, Python, Swift) and software development lifecycle
  • Must have experience with one of the following change management tracking system tools: Jira, ClearQuest, Asana
  • Must have experience with one of the following configuration management systems: GIT, GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, Subversion
  • Active U.S. government Secret level or higher clearance (in-scope), with the ability to obtain (and maintain) special program access (PAR)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud technology (AWS, VMWare, Azure, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with developing software using agile processes (Kanban, Scrum, Scrumban)
  • Knowledge of software metrics
  • Experience with configuration of virtual machines (VMs) and virtual networks (VPC, NSX-T, NSX-V)
  • Experience with static, dynamic code analysis
  • Experience with operation of cyber remediation and Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Certification from VMWare, AWS, or Cisco is desired
  • Active Secret DoD Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
  • Current Special Access Program (SAP) clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $116,300.00 - $174,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
