Title: Senior IT Project Manager (Automotive Manufacturing)

Description:
  • Initiates, Plans, Executes, Controls and Closes multiple simultaneous IT Projects.
  • Applies the client IT process and leads cross-functional teams to complete tasks and deliverables according to the project schedule: on time, with quality and within budget.
  • Requires people and resource management skills to work alongside and also manage cross-functional teams to complete projects.
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate a history of success leading teams in a matrixed organization structure as well as success in leading without direct authority.
  • The IT Project Manager has ultimate responsibility for the success of the project achieving its stated financial and performance targets.
  • The IT Project Manager manages all project processes including interdepartmental meetings, technical/functional resource identification and allocation, feasibility and impact assessments, development of detailed project plans/schedules/budgets, project timeline and progress tracking, budgetary month over month forecast/actuals updates, change control process, management of required SDLC documentation to define project requirements, training, interdepartmental communications for implementation readiness and any other project activities needed to ensure on-time delivery within budget constraints. Selects, develops and evaluates team resources to ensure efficient operation of the project and its goals.
  • Coordinates work performed by both internal staff and external partners.
  • Projects vary in number, size and complexity.
Desired skills
• STRONG Project Manager skillset (PM Processes/Best Practices): 5+ years corporate PM experience completing large scale/complex IT implementations with large/detailed project plans (critical path timelines in Microsoft Project) and directly managing their financial budgets. Skilled problem solver and change champion/leader.
• Domain Knowledge Requirements: Experience managing large scale Product Development / Manufacturing projects in the Truck OEM/Heavy Equipment/Electric Vehicle space with technologies such as Rockwell/PINpoint Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Infor/LN/Baan (ERP), OTA (Over the Air) update solutions for Connected Vehicle / Telematics, Service Tools/Diagnostics for Module Flashing/Parameter Programming/Fault Code Diagnostics Support, Security initiatives for PKI enablement, Integration/Interface/API development and Cloud solutions like Azure and AWS is a plus.
• Self-starter: Works autonomously to determine/develop/drive the proper process/documentation/tools needed for each project in order to motivate people and drive the team(s) to accomplish goals to make each project a success.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Experience speaking in large groups and delivering presentations to executive leadership. Must be able to take leadership feedback, quickly absorb and make decisions. Experience managing IT vendors (system integrators) adhering to SOW/T&C, scope management and external vendor financials is required.
• PMP and Agile certified. Lean Six Sigma is a plus.
Experience
• Requires in-depth knowledge of Project Management processes and best practices.
• Track record of implementing large scale and complex IT initiatives and their budgets is required.
• PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certifications are strongly preferred.
• Experience using Agile practices to deliver is a must. Agile Certifications (CSM, CSP, etc.) are strongly preferred. Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Azure DevOps (ADO) is a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of project finance and best practices is a must. Master of Business Administration preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word is required. Proficiency developing detailed project schedules and performing critical path analysis using Microsoft Project is required.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt / Green Belt training and/or certification is a plus.
• Proficient in applying established standards, resolving a wide range of complex problems of diverse scope in innovative ways, including problems where precedent may not exist.
• Change Champion with demonstrated history of success leading difficult projects where change is required and be comfortable leading organizational change.

• Must be a skilled problem-solver who follows through on corrective action implementation.
• Work is accomplished through independent contributions or project work requiring advanced subject area knowledge and decision-making skills.
• Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes.
• Instructs, coaches or provides informal guidance to other professionals or colleagues with less experience.
• Must be comfortable for up to 20% domestic travel.
