Position Description:

We are looking for a Senior IT Data Architect to join our IT team in Taylor, Michigan. Candidates must be able to work out of the Taylor, Michigan office and should have at least five years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, database design, enterprise application integration, or related data platform roles. Candidates should also have a bachelor's degree in data architecture, computer science, information systems, data science, engineering, or a related field with strong SQL and applicable data integration experience. A flexible, hybrid remote schedule is available after 30 days of employment.

Typical responsibilities include:
  • Develop a roadmap for data projects in conjunction with the business units
  • Design and maintain enterprise data models, integration patterns, and architecture standards that unify data across Wade Trim databases and enterprise applications
  • Provide curated, governed, and model-ready datasets that support Development team solutions, Citizen Development initiatives, analytics, automation, AI, and model development
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to define source-to-target mappings, data pipelines, semantic models, and reusable data assets
  • Translate business and application needs into scalable data architecture requirements, data models, and integration designs
  • Analyze structured and unstructured data sources to identify opportunities for standardization, consolidation, and reuse
  • Establish data quality expectations, validation rules, metadata standards, and lineage practices
  • Support dashboards, reports, applications, automations, and AI use cases by ensuring data is consistent, trusted, and accessible
  • Support development of repeatable data delivery and integration workflows
  • Develop data access protocols in conjunction with the business units
  • Maintain a safe working environment
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Architecture, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or related field is required
Skills/Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, database design, enterprise application integration, or related data platform roles
  • Strong SQL, data modeling, database design, and data integration experience is required
  • Experience with Azure and Microsoft Fabric is required
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases is required
  • Experience with Enterprise Data Architecture is required
  • Experience with Data Modeling, Semantic Modeling & Integration Design is required
  • Experience with Business and Application Data Requirements Translation is required
  • Understanding of data pipelines, semantic models, APIs, ETL/ELT patterns, and model-ready data preparation is required
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain data architecture concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders is required
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration is required
  • Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving is required
  • Exposure to the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry is preferred
