Job description

Senior Capacity Planning Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Capacity Planning Analyst (Automotive) to own production capacity strategy. You will balance market demand forecasts with manufacturing plant capabilities

(stamping, body shop, paint, assembly). This role is critical to minimizing production bottlenecks, optimizing inventory levels, and driving profitability across vehicle lines. [1, 2]

Key Automotive Responsibilities

· Plant Capacity Modeling: Design models analyzing maximum vehicle output based on line speed (jobs per hour), shift patterns, and equipment downtime.

· Supply Chain De-risking: Evaluate supplier capacity to ensure tier-1 components (batteries, microchips, engines) can support production ramps. [1, 2]

· Launch amp; Phase-Out Planning: Model resource shifts during new vehicle program launches (SOP) and end-of-production (EOP) cycles.

· Bottleneck Mitigation: Identify physical manufacturing constraints (e.g., paint shop capacity, tooling limitations) and propose capital investment (CapEx) solutions.

· Inventory Balancing: Coordinate with Logistics to align finished vehicle inventory with dealership demand forecasts while minimizing warehousing costs. [1]
