Job Summary
Provide technical, logistical, and administrative support to NED Assistant Division Engineers in the Sub-Division to ensure efficient and cost-effective management of infrastructure construction, maintenance, and inspection. Work in both office and field settings, including night operations, collaborating closely with gang supervisors and Transportation Management in all weather conditions.
Essential Functions
  • Coordinate night work activities within IMCS (Infrastructure Maintenance & Construction Services), ensuring adherence to outage requirements for maintaining OTP (On-Time Performance).
  • Provide 24/7 support for planned work and emergencies.
  • Monitor field activities to enforce safety protocols, driving safety culture improvement and preventing injuries.
  • Ensure regulatory inspections' timely and high-quality performance through field oversight.
  • Assist supervisors with injury support, including transportation and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
  • Plus 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience and must be able to work with all levels of employees and both external and internal customers.
  • Experience with infrastructure construction, maintenance, and inspection.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience.
  • Plus 8 years of relevant work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient in interfacing with employees at all levels and collaborating across IMCS and Transportation Departments.
  • Skilled and experienced in MS Office, including creating spreadsheets, presentations, and memorandums.
  • Demonstrates expertise in railroad infrastructure inspection, maintenance, and construction, with basic knowledge of related crafts.
  • Knowledgeable in railroad operations, operating rules, and divisional processes, including track and OCS outages.
  • Familiar with Federal Railroad Regulations, including Roadway Worker Protection.

The salary/hourly range is $103,700.00 - $134,460.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee's base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
