Job Summary:
Virtus Investment Partners is a dynamic, fast-growing organization that empowers employees to make a tangible impact in offering clients high-quality investment strategies. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and operating secure and scalable infrastructure platforms, focusing on Microsoft Azure and enterprise Linux environments.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Design, engineer, test, and implement infrastructure solutions across Azure IaaS/PaaS, Enterprise Linux, Microsoft 365, and other on-premises platforms to meet availability, security, and performance requirements.
โ€ข Collaborate with IT management and IT security to develop and maintain architecture standards, technical documentation, operational runbooks, and strategic plans for Azure, Microsoft 365, and Linux platforms.
โ€ข Provide Level 2/3 operational support for infrastructure services, including Azure, Linux and Windows server platforms, backup and recovery, storage, virtualization, and endpoint systems.
โ€ข Administer and troubleshoot hybrid infrastructure services, including Active Directory/Entra ID, Azure networking, Microsoft 365 services, Linux and Windows servers, security controls, automation, and system integrations.
โ€ข Provide on-site technical oversight to ensure infrastructure standards, operational stability, and timely resolution of escalations, while mentoring junior engineers through day-to-day guidance and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent professional experience or certifications
โ€ข 5 to 10 years of infrastructure or cloud engineering experience in an enterprise environment
โ€ข Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS and PaaS)
โ€ข Enterprise Linux administration experience in cloud and/or hybrid environments
โ€ข Proficiency with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Python, Azure CLI, Power Automate)
โ€ข Solid understanding of cloud networking, security, and identity concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls)
โ€ข Experience supporting production systems subject to security, audit, or compliance requirements
โ€ข Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred:
โ€ข Relevant Azure certifications (Associate or Expert) preferred
