About the role

At Verndale the Infrastructure team is responsible for the technology, security, software and hardware used by all employees. The senior infrastructure engineer will be an integral part of this critical and highly visible team tasked with empowering all employees to perform their jobs in the most efficient and secure way possible. As senior infrastructure engineer, you will also support Verndale\'s clients, Azure hosting environments, as well as Verndale\'s 24x7 help desk acting as an escalation point. The qualified candidate must be able to work with limited supervision and participate in on-call rotations as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and direct projects/initiatives from start to finish with minimal oversight.
  • Configure, maintain and troubleshoot corporate environments and applications to support employees as well as clients.
  • Collaborate with engineering, leadership, and cross-functional team members to meet business goals.
  • Update and maintain internal process documentation.
  • Provide technical support, training, and mentorship for colleagues.
  • Respond to incoming requests within agreed-upon levels in customer service level agreements.
  • Identify and organize support tickets and internal initiatives according to priority.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and ensure uptime of services based on application SLAs.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, IT support, or related technical environments.
  • Strong experience managing cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong experience with Enterprise Identity and Access Management, including Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD, and Active Directory.
  • Experience administering Windows 10/11, Windows Server, macOS, and Linux environments.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Outlook, and Office applications.
  • Experience managing Atlassian platforms, including Jira and Confluence.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer setup, technical support, networking, and troubleshooting principles.
  • Experience with enterprise networking technologies and configurations, including LAN, WAN, and VPN.
  • Experience with infrastructure and application monitoring tools.
  • Experience with MDM platforms, such as Microsoft Intune and Jamf.
  • Experience with endpoint security solutions, including Sophos and Microsoft Defender.
  • Experience with vulnerability management and web application scanning tools, such as Tenable.
  • Experience with computer imaging and deployment solutions, including SmartDeploy and Windows Autopilot.
  • Experience with collaboration and communication platforms, including Zoom, Slack, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Knowledge of information security principles and industry best practices.
