Job Summary

The Cloud Engineer Senior manages the design,supportand up-keep of the organization'shybridcloud-based systems to ensure the organization canoperateefficiently and safely. Working under minimal supervision, the Cloud Engineer Senior ensures that thehybridcloud infrastructure and larger systemsareworking properly and meets the organization's needs.

Essential Job Functions

  • Hybrid (Greensboro, NC) - Required to be within one hour of driving time from Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC

  • Design, implement, andmaintainscalable, secure, andhighly availableIaaS and PaaS environments across the organization'shybridcloud platforms.

  • Architect and manage core cloud infrastructure components, including virtual networks,compute, storage, and identity services.

  • Optimizecloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency through continuous monitoring and tuning.

  • Ensuresthe implementation of cloud solutionsareimplemented properly and efficiently given the organization's current needs.

  • Reviews cloud hardware, software, and applications to ensure data is secure and that security management and privacy requirements are incorporated.

  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolution ofincidents.

  • Remains up to date about new cloud products, technology, and best practices.

  • Manages theconfiguration,support, and documentation related to Disaster Recovery efforts for hybrid cloud workloads.

  • Ensures the enforcement of standards and best practices to provide efficient and cost-effective cloud solutions.

  • Interactswith other IT teams and/or project teams to provide support, implementation, and design recommendations for cloud workloads.

  • Overseesand supports the performance of storage systems toestablisha reliable and scalable storage infrastructure.

  • Oversees and supports the implementation and integration of virtualization infrastructure(Azure, VMware, & Nutanix), operating systems (Windows & Linux), storage systems, and backup solutions with the existing IT environment foron-premiseand cloud workloads.

  • Reviews the regular infrastructureutilizationreports from junior colleagues to stay up to date on infrastructure usage and potential capacity constraints.

  • On call rotation required

  • Performs other duties as reasonably required or assigned.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems ora relatedfield and/or equivalent work experience.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands on experience with Azure

    designing, implementing, andmaintainingIaaS platforms

  • At least 5 years of architecting andmanagingcore cloud infrastructure components, including virtual networks,compute, storage, and identity services.

  • At least 3 years of hands on supportingon-premisevirtualization infrastructure(VMware & Nutanixis preferred)

  • At least 2 years of managing theconfiguration,support, and documentation related to Disaster Recovery efforts for hybrid cloud workloads.

Licensure/Certification/Listing

  • Required: Platform-centric certification for cloud
