Job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Multinational Digital Infrastructure (MDI) team builds and sustains the classified networks, sovereign cloud environments, and data transport architectures that connect Anduril's Maritime platforms across the US, UK, and Australia. We own the connective tissue between autonomous systems from undersea mesh networks to multinational SECRET cloud enabling coordinated war fighting capability at scale across AUKUS nations.
ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a Multi-Domain Mission Capabilities Lead, Multinational Digital Infrastructure to join our rapidly growing team. Anduril builds world-class autonomous maritime platforms -- undersea vehicles, surface vessels, aerial systems, seabed sensors. Today, each platform communicates in its own way, on its own timeline, with its own constraints. There is no unified network architecture that enables a distributed autonomous fleet to operate as a single coordinated warfighting system.
The Anduril Maritime mission requires platforms to work together as a coordinated, multi-domain system of systems that detects, tracks, classifies, and engages threats across undersea, surface, air, and space domains. The SoS must persist in environments where nothing is guaranteed: comms are denied, infrastructure doesn't exist, and the system has to deploy from nothing to operational in hours.
This role owns the complete expeditionary digital infrastructure stack that makes coordinated maritime operations possible network, compute, data services, classification boundaries, and the management plane that keeps it all running in environments where nothing else exists. You define how platforms connect, where data gets processed and fused at the edge, how services run on forward-deployed compute without persistent connectivity, and how the entire stack deploys to an operational theater as a coherent, repeatable capability not a one-off science project.
You sit at the intersection of network architecture, systems engineering, edge compute, and expeditionary operations. You'll define the deployable digital infrastructure architecture, build it, take it to the field, prove it works under operational conditions, and hand back a repeatable playbook that scales beyond a single demonstration.
This is not a network engineering role that occasionally thinks about missions. This is a full-stack expeditionary infrastructure role network through compute through services through data that exists to make deployed mission systems work.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Deployable Digital Infrastructure Architecture
    • Define the full-stack reference architecture for deployable Maritime mission infrastructure network, edge compute, data services, and classification boundaries packaged for expeditionary deployment to new theaters and new operations centers
    • Own the integration model across platforms: how systems discover each other, how data flows and gets processed between domains, how transport priorities map to C2 authority, and how the entire stack degrades gracefully when links are lost or nodes are destroyed
    • Design for expeditionary reality: the architecture must deploy in hours, operate in denied/degraded environments, reconstitute after node loss, and scale from a 2-vehicle demonstration to a 50+ vehicle operational fleet network through compute through services
    • Define the network and data transport layer that makes multi-domain coordination possible acoustic, RF, SATCOM, tactical datalinks, and terrestrial backhaul unified under a software-defined transport architecture
    • Architect the edge compute and data services layer: what workloads run forward, what data gets processed at the edge vs. transported to cloud, how mission services remain available without persistent backhaul
  • Mission Integration & Field Validation
    • Deploy the full expeditionary infrastructure stack to the field: network, compute, services, and data pipelines own the end-to-end digital infrastructure for operational exercises, fleet demonstrations, and customer integration events
    • Own the infrastructure performance budget that underpins mission timelines network latency, compute capacity, service availability, data pipeline throughput, failover and prove it holds under operational conditions
    • Serve as MDI's senior technical authority during exercises and deployments: ensure the deployed infrastructure stack enables platform teams to execute coordinated operations without digital infrastructure being the bottleneck at any layer
    • Build the deployment playbooks: repeatable, documented, trainable procedures for standing up the complete expeditionary infrastructure stack in new locations with new operators
    • Validate that edge services, data processing, and classification boundary controls perform correctly under operational load not just network connectivity, but the full digital stack
  • Expeditionary Digital Infrastructure
    • Design the complete deployable infrastructure stack: network gear, edge compute nodes, containerized mission services, crypto, SATCOM terminals, power, and operator interfaces packaged for rapid deployment to austere locations
    • Own the expeditionary compute and services layer: what workloads run on forward-deployed hardware, how mission applications containerize and deploy, how services discover each other and remain available in disconnected conditions
    • Architect the edge data processing pipeline: sensor fusion, local analytics, data reduction, and priority-based forwarding deciding what gets processed at the edge vs. what transits to sovereign cloud
    • Define the interface between expeditionary field infrastructure and persistent sovereign cloud how data, state, and configuration sync between a temporary forward node and classified environments when connectivity is intermittent
    • Solve the comms-denied problem at the full-stack level: not just store-and-forward for data, but autonomous service operation, local decision support, edge caching, and graceful reconnection when links restore
    • Own the management plane for deployed infrastructure: how you monitor health, push updates, patch vulnerabilities, rotate credentials, and maintain configuration state across forward-deployed nodes without persistent connectivity
    • Design and enforce classification boundary management in forward locations: data flow policies, cross-domain interfaces, crypto management, and national release controls in expeditionary configurations not just at fixed sites
  • Cross-Functional Technical Leadership
    • Operate as an embedded technical leader across Maritime platform teams establishing common interfaces, integration patterns, and networking standards through direct contribution, not delegation
    • Represent Anduril externally to Navy, allied defense, and AUKUS partners on deployable mission system architecture translate operational requirements into technical strategy
    • Shape multinational architecture for coalition deployments: how allies integrate into the same system of systems under different classification frameworks and national authorities
    • Drive alignment between MDI infrastructure (classified networks, sovereign cloud, data transport) and platform engineering teams on how their systems operate in deployed configurations
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of experience spanning network architecture, systems/infrastructure engineering, and operational deployment of mission-critical digital systems with demonstrated ability to architect, build, and operate across the full stack
  • Track record of delivering complex digital infrastructure in field environments not just designing it, but deploying to exercises, demonstrations, or operational environments and owning the outcome end-to-end
  • Deep expertise in tactical/expeditionary networking: contested comms, mesh architectures, SATCOM integration, software-defined transport, and graceful degradation under link loss
  • Strong systems engineering across compute, containerized services, and data pipelines not just the network layer, but what runs on top of it in forward-deployed environments
  • Systems-of-systems thinking: ability to reason from operational outcomes (kill chain timelines, mission success criteria) backward into infrastructure requirements network, compute, services, and data
  • Experience designing and operating infrastructure in disconnected/intermittent environments: edge compute, autonomous services, store-and-forward data movement, and graceful reconnection
  • Experience integrating across multiple autonomous or unmanned platforms understanding how heterogeneous systems coordinate when each has different comms constraints, processing capabilities, and operational modes
  • Comfortable operating in the field: exercises, at-sea events, austere locations. This role deploys with the systems it designs.
  • Ability to drive technical alignment across teams you don't manage setting standards, building consensus, and shipping integrated capability through influence and direct contribution
  • Can communicate system architecture to admirals and operators as effectively as to platform engineers
  • Willingness to travel ~40% (exercises, customer sites, Anduril facilities, allied partner locations)
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with undersea communications (acoustic modems, UUV comms, delay-tolerant networking)
  • Background in maritime tactical networks (ADNS, CANES, Link-16/22, CEC, or allied equivalents)
  • Experience with mesh networking: dynamic topology, priority-based routing, store-and-forward, reconstitution after node loss
  • Knowledge of AUKUS or Five Eyes classified network frameworks
  • Background in cloud-native networking (service mesh, CNI, overlay networks) applied to edge/tactical environments
  • Prior work supporting at-sea testing, fleet exercises, or large-scale autonomy demonstrations
  • Experience with Lattice, ROS/ROS2, or similar distributed autonomy middleware from a networking perspective
  • Familiarity with IaC tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices applied to network infrastructure
