Job Title: Senior Human Resources Generalist
Classification: Exempt
Department: Human Resources
Reports to: Human Resources Manager
Shift: Monday-Friday Onsite Role
Position Summary:
The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing hands on Human Resources support with a strong focus on employee relations, workplace investigations, employee engagement, communications, and organizational culture. This position serves as a trusted resource for employees and leaders, partnering with management to address workplace concerns, reinforce company policies, improve employee experience, and support a positive and productive work environment.
The Senior HR Generalist will independently manage and support employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, performance concerns, and employment separations. This position will also support the company’s 5C employee engagement strategy, monitor and report employee turnover trends, coordinate engagement activities and events, and develop creative employee communications, and social media content that strengthen company culture and employee connection.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Employee Relations
    • Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and leaders regarding workplace concerns, policies, performance, conduct, and employee relations matters.
    • Conduct and/or lead workplace investigations, including gathering information, interviewing employees and witnesses, documenting findings, and making appropriate recommendations.
    • Partner with managers and senior leaders to address employee performance, attendance, conduct, and behavioral concerns.
    • Facilitate disciplinary meetings and assist leaders in determining appropriate corrective action in accordance with company policies and practices.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation related to employee relations cases, disciplinary actions, investigations, and employment decisions.
    • Support employment terminations, including preparation, documentation, coordination, and conducting termination meetings when appropriate.
    • Ensure consistent and fair application of company policies and procedures.
    • Maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Employee Engagement & 5C Initiatives
    • Support the company’s 5C employee engagement strategy and initiatives.
    • Partner with leaders and HR team members to develop programs that improve employee morale, engagement, communication, and retention.
    • Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing employee engagement activities, recognition programs, celebrations, and company events.
    • Identify opportunities to improve the employee experience and make recommendations to leadership.
    • Help develop and implement initiatives designed to strengthen company culture and employee connection.
  • Turnover & HR Analytics
    • Monitor and report employee turnover on a regular basis.
    • Analyze turnover trends by department, shift, tenure, position, and other relevant factors.
    • Identify potential causes and trends contributing to employee turnover and recommend improvement opportunities.
    • Prepare HR reports and summaries for management and senior leadership.
    • Utilize HR data to evaluate the effectiveness of engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Employee Communications
    • Develop clear, engaging, and timely employee communications related to HR programs, events, policies, company initiatives, recognition, and organizational updates.
    • Assist with communication campaigns designed to improve employee awareness and participation.
    • Develop creative communication materials, including flyers, announcements, presentations, digital content, and other employee-facing materials.
    • Ensure employee communications are consistent with company culture, branding, and messaging.
  • Social Media & Employer Branding
    • Support company social media initiatives by developing and coordinating employee-focused content.
    • Assist with showcasing company culture, employee events, community involvement, hiring initiatives, and organizational accomplishments.
    • Partner with HR and other departments to identify opportunities for positive employer-branding content.
    • Ensure social media content appropriately represents company values, culture, and brand.
  • Other Duties
    • Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
    • Requires occasional physical activity throughout shift (except breaks and lunch) such as walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, handling, near/far vision, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and handling sensitive employee relations matters.
  • Experience supporting disciplinary actions, performance management, and employment separations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with leaders and HR team members.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, with significant experience in employee relations.
  • Manufacturing or other industrial HR experience is preferred.
