Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in VLSI design, software development, front-end CAD or EDA tool development.
  • Experience writing production scripts (such as Python/Tcl) for CAD tools.
  • Experience with front-end design tools, such as lint, CDC/RDC, or simulation tools and HDL design languages and with front-end design development and integration process.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in CAD flow development.
  • Knowledge of machine learning (ML) algorithms and AI application development.
  • Knowledge in front-end design flows, verification flows or optimal processes used for SoC hardware development.
  • Knowledge of full life cycle of software development.

As part of the Front-End CAD team, you will be responsible for developing CAD flows or tools for custom SoCs built for Google made devices. You will have a thorough understanding of very large scale Integration (VLSI) design and software skills and will be able to apply them to meet design goals. You will be working directly with designers to understand their needs and building efficient solutions that scale across multiple projects and nodes.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $192000 - $279000 (USD) 20% bonus target bonus equity benefits

Responsibilities
  • Develop front-end CAD tools and flows for Google Silicon SoC projects in various domains (RTL generation, design verification, AI-enabled CAD flows, design/IP quality assurance and release management, design spec management, internal CAD tool development, etc.).
  • Work with design teams to understand requirements and enable scalable and efficient CAD solutions to improve design quality and productivity.
  • Work across functional domains to enable development and validation of CAD flows.
  • Drive EDA vendors to improve their tools to deliver custom solutions for Google.
  • Understand VLSI design with excellent software skills.
