General Purpose
We are hiring personal trainers for both our recreation facilities, Eagle Pointe and Bison Ridge.
We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our team as a Personal Trainer I, II, or III! As a Personal Trainer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing fitness programs that are goal-driven, safe, effective, and enjoyable. You will provide in-depth instruction on proper form and technique, fitness guidelines/recommendations, physiology and anatomy, exercise modifications, client motivation, and the monitoring and communication of client progress. Additionally, you will supervise clients, create a supportive exercise environment, and continue developing skills and knowledge.
Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.
The hiring range for Personal Trainer I is $25.90 - $28.82 per hour
The hiring range for Personal Trainer II is $29.04 - $32.13 per hour
The hiring range for Personal Trainer III is $32.19 - $35.41 per hour

Minimum Qualifications
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age. Previous experience a plus, but not required. Spanish/English bilingual a preferred but not required. Must hold current CPR and AED certifications or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire. Ability to demonstrate competent technical personal training skills.
Personal Trainer I:
All of the above plus:
  • Nationally recognized personal trainer certification-ACSM, ACE, NASM or NSCA preferred, but others accepted as deemed appropriate
  • 1 year or less training experience
Personal Trainer II:
All of the above plus:
  • Nationally recognized personal trainer certification-ACSM, ACE, NASM or NSCA preferred, but others accepted as deemed appropriate
  • 1-5 years training experience
Personal Trainer III:All of the above plus:
  • Nationally recognized personal trainer certification-ACSM, ACE, NASM or NSCA preferred, but others accepted as deemed appropriate
  • More than 5 years training experienceAND/OR Bachelor's Degree in exercise science or related field

Recreation Center Membership: Employees are eligible for a membership to the Commerce City Recreation Center for $5.00 per year.
Golf Course Green Fees: Employees can play the City's award-winning Buffalo Run Golf Course at a rate of $9.00 for 9-holes or $18.00 for 18-holes. Employees can also purchase golf merchandise at discounted prices.
Benefits: The city monitors the hours worked for seasonal and variable hour employees. In the event that they work more than 1,560 hours within the ACA measurement period, they will be offered health benefits.
Wellness: Employees are eligible to earn up to $100 for participation in various wellness activities offered by the City throughout the year.
Eligibility for Pay Increases: Employees are eligible for a pay increase around the time of their annual appraisal following a successful evaluation.
Sick Time: Accrual is 1 hour per 30 hours worked
