Senior GIS Technician

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior GIS Technician to support enterprise geospatial initiatives through advanced GIS data management, mapping, spatial analysis support, and quality assurance activities. This role is responsible for maintaining high-quality geospatial datasets and supporting GIS analysts, developers, engineers, planners, and business users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile, create, edit, update, and maintain spatial and attribute datasets.
  • Perform advanced geoprocessing, spatial analysis, and GIS data conversion activities.
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure geospatial data accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform digitizing, raster scanning, georeferencing, and data transformation tasks.
  • Create and maintain GIS metadata and documentation.
  • Support map production and cartographic design initiatives.
  • Validate and reconcile GIS data across multiple platforms and databases.
  • Assist with field data collection and GIS integration activities.
Requirements
  • Advanced GIS data editing and maintenance experience
  • Spatial data management expertise
  • Knowledge of cartographic design principles
  • Experience with QA/QC methodologies
  • Vector and raster data processing skills

Preferred Qualifications
