Job description

NAVA Software solutions is looking for a Data Engineer.
Details:
Sr. Data Engineer
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid at least 2 days a week)
Duration: 6-12 months
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
  • Design, build, and support durable data solutions that can enable self-service consumption use cases using on-premise and cloud based technologies.
  • Lead a team to build a data and analytics environment to support departmental teams' specific data needs.
  • Write clean, efficient, and thoroughly tested code.
  • Leverage APIs from various third-party systems.
  • Team player that is improving the systems and data that enable our mission.
  • Establish development standards and practices.
  • Take architectural ownership for the solutions being built.
  • Communicate and document solutions and design decisions.
  • Contribute to technology education via code reviews, great software design, brown bags or tech talks.
  • Provide support to both internal and external team members where necessary.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and efficient processes.
  • Communicate status and metrics to your supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of technology development experience including 5+ years of data engineering, reporting and analytics related experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Programming, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Strong systems understanding including SQL Server, API support/maintenance, Microsoft Reporting services/equivalent reporting & Data Warehouse tools, Windows, Azure, EDI, and web services.
  • Enthusiasm for the mission of the Food Depository.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working closely with end users, team members, functional owners, and leadership.
