Job description

Our Production Relief Operator for this position can make up to $24.96 per hour
Perform proficiently in different aspects of multiple plant duties. Provide relief in jobs and learn duties of production, packaging, sanitation, and other roles assigned.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform a variety of line duties within the manufacturing environment to include highly skilled / senior-level processing, machine operator, and/or break relief operator jobs (e.g., Receiver, Blend/Filler/CIP/Retort/ Evaporator/Pasteurizer operators). This may include troubleshooting and performing minor maintenance repairs
• Review process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot
• Assist with training efforts in functional area as needed
• Review charts, screens, quality check sheets, and specifications that are in both hard copy and electronic format
• Engage in problem solving to assist in improving production, safety, quality, and yields
• Ensure operational efficiencies by positioning work, setting up of jobs, adjusting and operating equipment for proper functions and manufacturing of product
• Perform quality monitoring of statistical information and report on variations to supervisor and lab
• Inspect and identify any issues and perform preventative maintenance when needed
• Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
• Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 2 to 4 years of manufacturing/production experience needed, preferably in the dairy or consumer goods industry
  • Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment

  • Able to follow directions and carry out instructions
  • Able to effectively work in a team environment
  • Able to legibly write entries for record keeping
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
