Job Summary

Blue Ridge Automation is seeking to fill a full-time Senior Systems Engineer position. This position will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions for customers using data to provide meaningful insights. Senior Systems Engineers report directly to the Director of Factory Business Integration unit as well as Project Leads. This role is ideal for an engineer with experience in controls, and software development in a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and optimize data analytic solutions and UI/UX for customers.

  • Collaborate with customers to integrate solutions focused on increasing efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Implement and support HMI/SCADA, MES, Recipe Management, Batch & Product Run tracking, ERP, and other IT/OT solutions.

  • Optimize solutions using data analytics, data flow concepts, and data relationships.

  • Understand and troubleshoot mid to high level manufacturing software.

  • Decrease manufacturing mistakes through error-proofing and interlocking concepts.

  • Perform complex problem-solving tasks that involve reviewing information, actively detecting problems, developing, and evaluating options, selecting, and implementing the best solutions.

  • Understand complex plant floor operations and make proactive decisions by examining all available information and making timely decisions.

  • Research new features and technologies for solution concepts.

  • Build and use company standards for the applicable created solutions.

  • Integrate application solutions with manufacturing industrial solutions.

    • PLCs, IIOT Edge Devices, SCADA systems, etc.

Job Requirements

  • Strong time management skills including the ability follow standards and daily tasks.

  • Actively engage in the solution design, architecture, development, and deployment of assigned projects.

  • Experience with Agile and SCRUM approach to solution design.

  • Ignition knowledge and familiarity with Ignition common modules.

  • Strong SQL Experience (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, etc.)

  • Strong experience with PLC programming and non-machine controls

  • Scripting Experience (JavaScript, Python, .NET, etc.)

  • Experience in UI/UX Design

  • Software platform agnostic and able to navigate between different platforms and different customer solutions.

  • The ability to communicate with clients, support channels, and vendors on a regular basis providing documentation as needed.

  • Willingness to learn about the following industries Petcare, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Automotive, Metal Work
