Binnie is seeking experienced Senior Surveyors to join our Geomatics Group, based out of our Victoria location. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality survey solutions on some of British Columbia's most dynamic infrastructure and development projects.


Our Geomatics Division is recognized for its quality-driven approach, combining proven methodologies with advanced technologies to deliver accurate, reliable data for both legal and engineering survey applications. As a fully licensed British Columbia Land Surveying firm, Binnie provides a comprehensive range of geomatics and geospatial services to clients across the public and private sectors.


Our team, equipped with the latest technology and software, works on a wide range of survey assignments including large transportation, development, and infrastructure projects. Our services include control surveys, 3D laser scanning, deformation monitoring, hydrographic, topographic, drone mapping and LiDAR, and boundary surveys, as well as construction and precise engineering layout.


This is a full-time, field-based role offering a competitive compensation package, strong career growth opportunities, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to a high-performing team. You will work closely with and report to the Geomatics Division Manager, playing an integral role in project delivery and team success.

YOUR ROLE:

  • Mainly working on projects around Metro Victoria and Vancouver Island
  • Conducting field surveys in all weather conditions
  • Gathering survey data by using GPS, Total stations and data collectors
  • Transferring survey data to office network and assisting in reviewing the survey data
  • Ensuring delivery of projects within budgets and timelines
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Training and mentoring Survey Assistants
  • Assign tasks to Survey Assistants in a collaborative manner, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in work completion
  • Operating and maintaining survey vehicles, tools and equipment

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Diploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of work experience as Surveyor or equivalent
  • Eligible for registration as ASct or C.Tech. with ASTTBC or as Survey Student (SS) or Land Surveyor in Training (LST) with ABCLS
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong working knowledge of field survey techniques and calculations
  • Self-starter who is able to work under minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Physically fit and able to move and carry survey equipment and tools
  • Ability to work in variety of outdoor settings for extended periods and varied hours
  • Ability to prepare clean and complete field notes and sketches

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is $38 - $46 hourly.
