Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC), Georgia Transmission Corporation (GTC), and Oglethorpe Power Corporation (OPC) are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and support scalable, secure, and high-performing applications that enable operational success across the enterprise.

This role supports the full software development lifecycle, including front-end development, back-end services, database design, system integration, cloud deployment, and ongoing operational support.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to translate operational needs into reliable, integrated technology solutions that improve performance, support modernization, and strengthen enterprise capabilities.

Your work will directly support the technology systems that help power data-driven decision making, business operations, and the reliable delivery of electric service across Georgia.

This opportunity is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working across the technology stack, solving complex problems, building modern applications, and contributing to cloud transformation and mission-critical enterprise systems.

This role requires strong technical leadership and the ability to collaborate closely with business stakeholders to design scalable solutions that address complex operational needs.

As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting enterprise applications that enable operational efficiency, system integration, and business innovation.

You will:

  • Partner directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications across the full technology stack.
  • Build modern, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces using React or similar front-end frameworks.
  • Develop back-end services, RESTful APIs, messaging solutions, and microservices using technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and Python.
  • Design and support database solutions using platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and MongoDB.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between enterprise platforms to support data accuracy, system reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to system design, API design, microservices architecture, and application modernization initiatives.
  • Deploy and support applications in cloud environments, including Azure and other cloud-native platforms as needed.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated builds, testing, and deployments.
  • Use containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code practices, including tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues across the stack, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Plan and execute application upgrades, enhancements, optimizations, and production support activities.
  • Apply secure coding practices and support application and infrastructure security initiatives.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and iterative development processes.

At advanced levels, this role may also:

  • Lead technical initiatives, application modernization efforts, and enterprise development projects.
  • Provide technical direction related to application architecture, system integration, cloud solutions, and performance optimization.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the IT organization.
