Expected:

  • 15+ years of experience with potash and/or uranium plant design and operations 
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with APEGS in the Province of Saskatchewan 
  • Familiarity with design codes, equipment and material selection and specification development 
  • Able to perform calculations for equipment design, such as for tanks, pumps, and conveyors 
  • Pipe stress calculations are an asset 
  • Underground operations is an asset 
  • Wellfield piping design is an asset 
  • Construction experience is an asset 
  • Other heavy industrial, mining, or smelting experience is an asset 
  • Excellent communication skills  
  • Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills 
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, guidance and technical expertise to the project team 
  • Guide the overall technical design of uranium or potash plants and ancillaries 
  • Define capital project requirements, prepare scopes of work and project cost estimates  
  • Guide the creation of specifications and contract documents 
  • Review project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation, including checking for technical accuracy  
  • Coordinate and work with other project team members 
  • Direct the detail design for projects 
  • Develop and maintain positive, sustainable client relationships
