Elevate Your Expertise as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Dewberry in Peoria!
Dewberry is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Peoria, IL. Responsible for providing technical guidance and training/mentoring of our design resources in all areas of work we do associated with electrical engineering. Assist the Project/Client Managers by providing technical guidance to help meet the client's desires and budget. Work with a team of engineers on a variety of private, public, and federal projects. In addition to working with electrical engineers, this individual will team with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other disciplines to provide full-range services to our local and regional clients. In short, provide technical guidance associated with electrical requirements to accomplish our commitments. Will report to the Electrical Discipline Manager.
Dewberry's Peoria, IL office includes over 40 design professionals, including a large Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural (MEPS) Group focused on design services for nationwide clients in specialized facility types and specialized design services. Our experience includes high performance buildings, net zero energy design, renewable energy technologies, microgrid and energy storage system design, energy and climate resilience, and services related to decarbonization/electrification of the built environment. Our Peoria MEPS group contains subject matter experts in leadership roles in international professional organizations such as ASHRAE. Our repeat clients include universities, and state, local, and federal government agencies, and large global industrial manufacturers, among others. Our MEPS service line is ranked #30 Nationally among MEP Giants. Because our backlog continues to grow and energy market transformation is accelerating demand for our engineering expertise, we are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Peoria, IL office.
Key Required Skills:
  • Accomplished electrical engineer/PE
  • 8+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of power distribution, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems.

Responsibilities
Would be expected to provide the following to others on the design team to effectively and successfully complete projects:
  • Technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving electrical engineering.
  • Technical training and development of staff.
  • Establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for electrical discipline area.
  • Engineer of Record.
  • Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates.
  • Coordination with all of the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
  • Technical interface with code officials and contractors.

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Accomplished electrical engineer/PE
  • 8+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of power distribution, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems.
  • Experience should include technical oversight of multiple projects with proven success providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
  • Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Well organized, takes good notes.

The projected range for this position is $136,000-$175,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
