Job Description

Join the Legal Tech Revolution at Litera

Litera is transforming how legal professionals work. Our products are trusted by many of the largest law firms in the United States and around the world, and our AI platform is helping redefine how lawyers find answers, automate workflows, and deliver better outcomes for their clients.

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help buildLito Legal Agent, an AI-powered experience that brings together legal workflows, product intelligence, and generative AI into a unified assistant for the legal profession.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who loves building real products, learning fast, mentoring others, and using AI to make software development and legal work better.

This position is hybrid based in Denver, CO. Candidates should live within reasonable commuting distance, as this role requires on-site presence at least three days per week.

The Opportunity:

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer on the Lito team, you will help design, build, and evolve AI-powered product experiences used by leading law firms and corporate legal teams.

You will work across backend services, frontend experiences, cloud infrastructure, and AI integrations. You will write production code, shape technical direction, collaborate closely with Product and Design, mentor engineers, and help the team move faster with high engineering standards.

The ideal candidate is a pragmatic builder: strong technically, curious about AI, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and ship high-quality product features across our C#/.NET backend, TypeScript/React frontend, and cloud-based services.

  • Design scalable APIs, services, and product workflows that support AI-powered legal experiences.

  • Partner with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering leadership to turn ambiguous product ideas into clear technical plans and delivered software.

  • Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve speed, quality, and engineering leverage.

  • Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, pairing, technical guidance, and strong engineering practices.

  • Improve system reliability, observability, performance, security, and maintainability.

  • Communicate technical tradeoffs clearly and help stakeholders make practical, high-impact decisions.

Must Haves:

  • Strong hands-on software engineering experience building production applications, with depth in C#/.NET or a comparable backend ecosystem.

  • Experience building modern web applications with TypeScript, React, or similar frontend frameworks.

  • Experience designing APIs, data models, distributed systems, and cloud-based applications.

  • A track record of owning complex work end-to-end, from technical design through delivery and production support.

  • Strong engineering judgment, including the ability to make pragmatic tradeoffs around quality, speed, maintainability, and customer impact.

  • A collaborative leadership style, with experience mentoring engineers, raising team standards, and communicating effectively across Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders.

Nice To Haves:

  • Experience building AI-powered products, LLM-based workflows, RAG systems, agents, or integrations with platforms such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar.

  • Experience with Azure or another major cloud platform, along with modern CI/CD and DevOps practices.

  • Experience working across different product environments, company sizes, or technology stacks, with the adaptability to learn quickly.

  • Experience in legal tech, enterprise SaaS, document-intensive workflows, knowledge management, or highly regulated customer environments.

What Makes You a Strong Fit:

  • You are a builder at heart. You enjoy writing code, solving hard problems, learning new technologies, and helping others become better engineers. You are excited by the idea that AI is changing how software is built, and you want to be part of defining what responsible, high-quality AI-assisted engineering looks like in a real enterprise product environment. You are comfortable operating at a senior technical level without needing every requirement spelled out. You can move from product ambiguity to technical clarity, from prototype to production, and from individual contribution to team enablement. You care about craft, delivery, customer impact, and building software that earns trust.

Why Join Litera?
