Job description

About the Role

This leadership role within our MEP team will drive the design and management of electrical engineering projects, ensuring the successful execution of power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems across a variety of sectors. The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide technical oversight, mentorship, and strategic guidance, working closely with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from concept through completion.
  • Develop power distribution, lighting, emergency, and communication systems for municipal, K-12, university, and industrial buildings.
  • Perform advanced system analysis, including load calculations, short-circuit analysis, arc flash studies, and coordination studies.
  • Select and specify electrical distribution equipment, lighting systems, and controls.
  • Oversee and guide the development of electrical construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Ensure all designs comply with NFPA, NEC, energy codes, and other relevant standards.
  • Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of professional growth.
  • Collaborate directly with clients, architects, and project managers to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions.
  • Participate in business development efforts, including proposal writing and client presentations.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, engineering specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing conditions and support construction administration.



Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, power distribution, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain one within one year.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and power analysis tools (such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower).
  • Proven experience leading projects, managing budgets, and mentoring junior staff.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interface with diverse teams and clients.
  • Deep understanding of electrical systems, industry codes, and sustainable design practices.
