The Role

We are seeking a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to develop, modernize, and maintain high-performing, secure, and testable user interfaces. This role supports internal platforms that enable reporting, operational workflows, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role will serve as the frontend technical lead for Ember-based applications while partnering closely with backend engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders. 

The Main Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain user-facing web applications using Ember.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS
  • Build accessible, responsive, and user-friendly interfaces aligned with modern frontend standards.
  • Lead execution of new features, enhancements, technical improvements, and modernization initiatives
  • Partner with backend engineers, business stakeholders, and product owners to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions
  • Follow and advocate for modern Ember development patterns, including Octane architecture, Glimmer components, and current framework best practices
  • Proactively identify, prioritize, and remediate security vulnerabilities, dependency risks, and application security concerns
  • Build and maintain automated tests to ensure quality, reliability, and maintainability across frontend applications using CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and development workflows
  • Optimize application performance, responsiveness, accessibility, and user experience
  • Consistently deliver high-quality features and enhancements with minimal supervision while effectively collaborating on large cross-functional initiatives 

What We Look for in a Candidate 

  • 4+ years of professional frontend development experience
  • Strong professional experience building applications with Ember.js
  • Experience working with modern Ember concepts, including:  
    • Octane
    • Glimmer Components
    • Tracked Properties Services
    • Ember Data
    • Modern testing patterns 
  • Experience upgrading and maintaining long-lived frontend applications through framework and dependency upgrades
  • Strong proficiency with modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript
  • Experience building performant, maintainable, and scalable web applications
  • Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and component design patterns
  • Experience implementing and maintaining automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, source control workflows, and automated deployment processes
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software in a production environment
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause-analysis skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving and time-management abilities
  • Ability to succeed in a rapidly changing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent professional experience 

Nice-to-Have Qualifications 

  • Experience upgrading applications across multiple major Ember releases
  • Experience modernizing legacy frontend codebases
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Experience with application observability and monitoring tools
  • Knowledge of cloud-hosted applications and containerized environments
  • Backend development experience preferred (Go, Node.js, Java, or similar) 

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges:

$77,000 through $116,000
