What does a senior fraud intelligence professional do?

A Senior Fraud Intelligence professional analyzes complex data to detect, prevent, and respond to fraudulent activities within an organization. They use advanced analytical tools and investigative techniques to identify suspicious patterns and collaborate with law enforcement or internal teams to mitigate risks. Their responsibilities often include developing anti-fraud strategies, conducting in-depth investigations, and providing actionable intelligence to protect the company from financial loss.

What are the main challenges faced by a senior fraud intelligence professional, and how can they be addressed?

A Senior Fraud Intelligence professional often faces challenges such as rapidly evolving fraud tactics, managing large volumes of data, and staying ahead of increasingly sophisticated threats. To address these, it is essential to continually update analytical skills, leverage advanced technologies such as machine learning, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including IT, legal, and compliance. Regular training, knowledge sharing, and proactive threat monitoring are also key strategies to maintain effective fraud prevention and detection.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior fraud intelligence analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Senior Fraud Intelligence Analyst, you need expertise in fraud detection, risk assessment, data analysis, and typically a degree in a related field such as finance, criminology, or cybersecurity. Familiarity with fraud management software, data analytics tools like SQL or Python, and relevant certifications (e.g., CFE—Certified Fraud Examiner) are highly valued. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you identify threats and collaborate with stakeholders. These skills ensure accurate identification of fraudulent activities and the implementation of strategies to protect organizations from financial and reputational harm.

Job description

The Senior Performance Analyst supports the Director, Marketing Intelligence by owning higher-complexity reporting, measurement, and diagnostic work that turns the function's strategy and frameworks into intelligence the business can act on. The Director sets methodology, owns stakeholder narrative, governs metrics definitions, and architects the measurement strategy; the Senior Analyst is the senior hands-on builder who helps shape execution, leads complex investigations, and converts findings into decision-ready recommendations. Working in close partnership with AdTech/MarTech, Tech, Data, Digital, CRM, Procurement, Intake Operations, and Compliance, the Senior Analyst produces and improves the descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive outputs that ladder into monthly CMO reviews and quarterly business reviews. This is an individual-contributor role with no direct reports. Success is measured by the reliability, accuracy, timeliness, and business impact of the intelligence delivered.

Core Responsibilities, but aren't limited to: (included in Job Posting)

1.

Build, run, and improve the descriptive and diagnostic reporting layer for the marketing funnel.

2.

Own the weekly reporting suite by intake source, service provider, campaign, and cohort - covering conversion timelines, contactability, opt-out behavior, and signing probability - against the agreed methodology and metrics standards.

3.

Lead diagnostic deep dives that explain variance and translate findings into operational and budget recommendations, packaging results for review and stakeholder use.

4.

Maintain self-service dashboards and the metrics dictionary so published measures remain governed and defensible.

5.

Act as a senior first line of "ask the data team": triage requests, answer routine and moderately complex questions, and work with the Director on strategic or high-risk analyses.

6.

Track analytical adoption and surface where stakeholders are still reverting to gut feel or manual reporting.

7.

Translate the B2C measurement framework and claimant journey analytics design into working pipelines and reporting artifacts.

8.

Partner with AdTech/MarTech, Tech, and Data to stitch media spend to claimant outcomes, reconcile attribution across web, behavioral, lead, and CRM sources, and quantify attribution and click-ID coverage gaps for cross-functional action.

9.

Build and run the nurture performance dashboard covering contact attempts, response rates, channel mix, time-to-contact, and drop-off by step.

10.

Establish and maintain contact-rate and lead-to-retainer conversion baselines and report progress against improvement targets.

11.

Diagnose where post-lead conversion is being lost, partner with Digital and CRM on test design, and produce analytical inputs for the monthly CMO journey review pack.

12.

Run the day-to-day lead-capture QA, predictive model operations, and pre-lead quality surveillance work that underpins the function's measurement and forecasting agenda.

13.

Monitor routing accuracy, source-tagging integrity, and end-to-end lead delivery; reconcile lead counts across capture, routing, and CRM systems and lead investigation of material variances while escalating anomalies within SLA.

14.

Reconcile lead counts across capture, routing, and CRM systems and lead investigation of material variances while escalating anomalies within SLA.

15.

Lead investigation of material variances while escalating anomalies within SLA.

16.

Support the build, validation, and ongoing operation of the signed-retainer yield forecast model, benchmark forecast accuracy monthly against actuals, document drift, and surface early-warning signals on underperforming sources, cohorts, or campaigns.

17.

Operate the surveillance reporting layer, triage automated alerts, produce monthly audit packs and partner scorecards used in commercial conversations, and document partner warnings and suspensions in a format that supports FTC, state AG, and TCPA inquiries.

18.

Evaluate tooling gaps and pilots from a practitioner perspective and feed findings into the Director's technology audit and roadmap.

19.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Business, Data Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent professional experience.

Work Experience: 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in performance marketing analytics, ideally in lead generation, mass tort or legal services, insurance, or another high-cost-per-lead regulated B2C vertical. Experience with Python and/or dbt for warehouse modeling, familiarity with mass tort intake and the contact-rate-to-retainer funnel is preferred. Exposure to TCPA, TrustedForm, Jornaya, and Consent Mode v2 and traffic / fraud detection tools and behavioral bot signals as well as forecasting and experimentation experience is preferred.

Licenses or Certification: Relevant certifications in SQL, paid media platforms, web analytics, visualization tools, or data modeling are preferred.

Skills Needed:

  • Advanced SQL on warehouse-scale event data
  • Hands-on experience joining clickstream, form, lead-routing, media, and CRM data
  • Fluency with at least two web or lead analytics platforms
  • Salesforce reporting fluency including custom objects
  • Working knowledge of paid media platforms and click-ID architecture
  • Working experience with lead distribution/routing platform
  • Demonstrated ability to build stakeholder-ready dashboards and present recommendations to senior cross-functional leaders.

Physical Requirements

Standing, walking, sitting, repetitive movements and use of mechanical controls, such as a keyboard, are frequently required.
