Reporting to Vice President, Core Fixed Income, this role will support all Core Fixed Income Portfolio Managers, participate in the development of the overall investment strategy for the Core Fixed Income team, have functional focus on monitoring high yield exposures across mandates and support the analysis and risk evaluation of our private funds platform.ย  Risk monitoring, relative value trade processes and credit research as assigned will also be core responsibilities. In addition, this role will act as a back-up Money Market trader and provide support to the portfolio operations/accounting group, compliance team, client service and business development team, and marketing and communications group as required.
Your responsibilities
  • Work within a team environment to develop the ongoing fixed income strategy for all Addenda Core Fixed Income Investment clients;
  • Participate in weekly tactical fixed income meetings, and quarterly forecast and strategy meetings;
  • Monitor high yield exposures and issuers across mandates;
  • Review, select and monitor private fund (credit, equity, real asset) exposures employed on our private funds platform
  • Support the Money Market Trader, managing and monitoring daily cash flow activities for all Addenda Core Fixed Income Investment clients;
  • Contribute to the corporate credit research process, learning the analysis framework with the intention of providing sector coverage;
  • Provide direction and support to accounting and operations staff on security information and trade issues for the money market and bond portfolios;
  • Contribute to reporting requirements for specific clients and help as needed for all other client reporting;
  • Represent Addenda in varying capacity with the parent company and its affiliates, and within the investment community (e.g. CFA Institute, Investment Dealers).
What you bring
  • A university degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field;
  • 5+ years of relevant experience;
  • CFA designation or currently in the process of obtaining it;
  • Direct experience with high yield debt and private funds an asset;
  • Working knowledge of a broad array of investment markets and practices including securities administration and regulation;
  • Collaborative team player with a knowledge-sharing mindset;
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Experience with database use and some programming ability (SQL, VBA, Python, C#) an asset.

Pay range information
The base salary range for this role is CADย 95,000.00 - 143,000.00 in addition to bonus, health or benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Addenda. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, internal equity and impact you bring to the role.
