Portfolio Manager - Fixed Income

$100,000 minimum starting pay, commensurate with experience

Job Level: Manager

Job Location: Corporate Office - Columbia, Missouri

Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Please remember that this range is the starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.

What You Will Be Doing:

Identify fixed income investment opportunities consistent with portfolio strategies for core insurance accounts; conduct due diligence, market research and securities analysis; make recommendations to senior management and prepare reports and presentations for board-level Investment Committee meetings; monitor IPS compliance; manage the liquidity position of Shelter entities; maintain process documentation to ensure procedures are current, accurate and implementable.

Due to the duties and responsibilities of this position, a Credit Bureau Report, and Criminal Background Check may be ordered on final candidates.

What We're Looking For:

  • BA in analytical field (Accounting, Finance, etc.) required and 5 to 7 years of investment related experience preferred.
  • MBA or CFA, or other relevant investment certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply finance and investment management theory.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of one or more fixed income sectors.
  • Advanced experience with Excel spreadsheet functions and database tools.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg Investment System preferred.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
