Job Overview


The Field Service Engineer provides field service engineering and technical assistance to customers in areas of installation, startup, maintenance & repair, training, and modification of equipment.  

This role is based out of Dallas, TX with 70% travel. 

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications and will be discussed during the interview process. The salary range for this role is $105,000- $120,000 annually and offers a competitive benefits package.

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by: 

  • Performing installation and commissioning of power quality and energy meters at customer sites, ensuring that it functions correctly and meets the operational standards specified.
  • Performing routine maintenance and diagnosing problems with equipment. Assist in repairing or replacing faulty parts and ensuring that the equipment is operational again in a timely manner.
  • Providing remote & on-site technical support to customers, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and resolving them directly or advising them on the necessary steps to fix them.
  • Training customers in the use of EIG equipment safely and effectively, often providing hands-on training and detailed operational manuals.
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering  (required) 
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience (required)
  • Good understanding of industry standard communication protocols with an emphasis on Modbus, IEC 61850, DNP and BACnet.
  • Knowledge of software, integration and automation, industrial controls, PLCs, and industry SCADA practices is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of the power systems, metering applications industry practices and electrical equipment being serviced.
  • Excellent analytical skills to diagnose issues and determine the best way to fix them.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, explaining complex technical issues in a way that non-experts can understand.
